Dithiopyr, preemergent herbicide

Depending on the rate you put it down it will keep you from seeing summer weeds like crabgrass, spurge, creeping charlie, etc. for up to 10 weeks. Works great in beds and lawns but it will not prevent winter weeds that are now germinating like henbit and chickweed. It's better on broadleaf weeds than grasses. After that 10 weeks you need to either reapply or just let the weeds do what they want, and you may actually want to do that if you have seeds you want to plant in the fall.

If you are applying on warm season grass like bermuda or zoysia you may notice root pruning (root/shoot inhibition, reduced tendency to spread and repair), it definitely has the strongest root pruning compared to its peer products like prodiamine or mesotrione. If you have a hybrid bermuda it can actually force your hybrid back to species characteristics

It is also sold under the brand name Dimension at Home Depot, among others. Now would be a great time to apply
